- SynopsisIn Gotham City, the unstable, would-be comedian Arthur Fleck, lives in poverty and looks after his ailing mother. He loses his precarious employment and when the City cuts public health provision he is let down by social services. He sinks into isolation and depression. When he is attacked on the subway he shoots dead his assailants. His crime inspires a wave of protest and class war, while, unmedicated he pursues homicidal fantasies. (Synopsis)
